I started this list intending to make a joke piece. By the time I got to the top three I realized I was actually arguing for Chris Crack as one of the better aphorists working in any medium right now. He writes the way people text. He titles the way people remember things. The albums are short. The songs are short. The titles do most of the heavy lifting, and they do it on purpose.
If you have never listened to him, start with Crackheads Live Longer Than Vegans or White People Love Algorithms. Both are under 30 minutes. Both have at least four titles funnier than anything you will hear on the radio this week. He is sitting at 44K monthly listeners while doing some of the sharpest writing in independent rap. That is the whole reason this site exists. To say something out loud before the rest of the room gets there.
Crack has been telling on himself this whole time. I am just trying to keep up.
